Ashin was born in Shanghai, China in Autumn 2008.

She spent her entire childhood in this amazing city. Meanwhile, she traveled around the globe with her parents. Her childhood was colorful and adventurous. At age 4, she had her little sister, Peggy. She took good care of her, but she can be can be a little bit bossy sometimes.

At the beginning of 2020, Ashin was grade 5. She was on a trip within Europe with her family. Covid hit in, and they’re ‘stuck’ in Finland🇫🇮 for a while. She continued with her studies in Shanghai until June, 2022, when she finished her Grade 7 in a girls’ middle school.

After saying good-byes with her beloved classmates and friends, she stepped on her journey of studying abroad. Her first stop was Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She started grade 8 on August, 2022 at a international school. It was a tough year for her, but she learnt a lot. She had high standards for herself. With her good amount of effort, her English language skills grew rapidly. Studying abroad is definitely a life-changing decision for her. Freshman year of HS wasn’t easy for her as well. She tried hard, but it’s quite hard for her, still, to form friendships in the school. She felt a bit out of place, and not belonged to the environment. Additionally, the PRAXIS program she enrolled at school was a bit beyond her capability. She felt out of place and overwhelmed, sad and lonely. Her health was at a bad status. At the end of the school year, she decided the school doesn’t suit her. So she decided to make a change.

At the begging, homeschooling comes to her mind. But her parents soon agreed with her that it’s hard to achieve within her family. Then they thought of moving to another country as an option. At 8th of April, she received a the offer from a all girl school in New Zealand. She then spent another summer holiday in Shanghai, and started her study in New Zealand in July.

She started as a Year 10 student. She soon discovered that her classmates are a year or more younger than her. She consult her teachers about that. About a month later, she successfully transferred to Year 11, and completed the Numeracy and Literacy Exam.
